The Shadow Postcards
Two friends. Two hemispheres. One surprising summer.

The learner experience
A little curiosity. A lasting understanding.
Friends exchange postcards from opposite hemispheres. After a prediction, the learner explores a globe. Requests for a simpler explanation, another example, or a challenge select approved scene variants. A teacher could later direct an additional live example within the same objective.
Imagine this moment
Scrubbing through the year changes the daylight boundary while the axial direction stays consistent.
Learning & evidence
The learning objective
Relate Earth's axial tilt to seasonal changes in daylight and sunlight angle.
What understanding looks like
Predict a new location's seasonal pattern, then explain it without relying on “closer to the Sun.”
Adaptation
Different starting points. A shared objective.
Start with daylight comparisons; extend to explaining opposite seasons and comparing latitudes.
Educator review
This is a proposed experience. Content and assessment require teacher review before classroom use.
