1. Information we may collect

Depending on how you use Curiendo, we may collect information such as:

• Account and contact information: name, email address, phone number where provided, organization, role, account credentials, and communication preferences.
• School and organization information: memberships, roles, classes, groups, curriculum settings, permissions, administrative information, and organization configuration.
• Learning information: assignments, responses, reasoning, learning evidence, feedback, progress, work samples, assistance used, teacher observations, and other information needed to provide educational services.
• Learner and family information: information provided by schools, authorized educators, parents, guardians, or learners as appropriate to the service and age requirements.
• Content: material users create, upload, adapt, publish, submit, or store through Curiendo.
• Creator and Public Library information: creator profiles, listings, licenses, transactions, payment-related records, and Public Library activity where those services are available.
• Communications: messages, inquiries, support requests, feedback, and other communications with Curiendo.
• Technical information: device, browser, log, security, diagnostic, and service-usage information needed to operate, protect, and improve the service.
• Cookie choice records: when you make or change a choice in the cookie banner on tutorcentrix.com: the choice, a random code that identifies it, the time, the version and language of the banner wording, the page, whether your browser sent a Global Privacy Control signal, a shortened IP address with a one-way code derived from it, the browser type, and the country.

We aim to collect information for defined educational, operational, contractual, safety, security, or service purposes rather than collecting information simply because it is technically possible.

2. How we use information

We may use personal information to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the Curiendo Platform and the Curiendo app.
• Authenticate users and protect accounts.
• Manage schools, organizations, roles, permissions, and family relationships.
• Deliver learning experiences and assignments.
• Record and present appropriate learning evidence, feedback, and progress.
• Support curriculum, planning, review, intervention, and reporting workflows.
• Provide creator, library, licensing, and Public Library services where available.
• Process authorized transactions and maintain commercial records.
• Provide customer and user support.
• Improve accessibility, usability, quality, and service performance.
• Detect, prevent, and investigate misuse, fraud, safety risks, and security incidents.
• Meet legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations.
• Communicate about the service and, where permitted, relevant product updates.

Curiendo is designed to avoid surveillance-style educational analytics. We do not rely on facial emotion recognition, biometric attention tracking, or hidden psychological profiling as measures of learning.

3. Schools and education organizations

Where Curiendo is provided through a school or education organization, that organization may determine how certain learner and educational information is used within its educational context.

Depending on the service and agreement, Docyrus, Inc. may process information on behalf of that organization while separately handling information necessary for areas such as account security, service operation, billing, support, and legal compliance.

Users should also review privacy information provided by their school or organization where applicable.

4. Learner and child information

The Curiendo Platform and the Curiendo app are designed for educational use, including use by children and young people under the direction of schools, educators, parents, or guardians.

Learner information may be provided by an authorized school, education organization, educator, parent, guardian, or learner depending on the applicable service, setting, and age requirements.

We follow several core principles for learner information:

• We do not sell learner personal information.
• We do not use learner information for targeted advertising to children.
• We do not allow creators or advertisers to commercially target individual learners using educational records.
• Student work is private by default unless an authorized sharing or publishing action takes place.
• We aim to collect meaningful learning evidence rather than unnecessary behavioral surveillance data.
• We do not use learner information to make autonomous high-stakes decisions about admission, discipline, diagnosis, special education classification, or similar matters.

Schools and education organizations may have additional responsibilities concerning learner information within their accounts.

5. AI-assisted features

Curiendo may use AI-assisted services to support creation, adaptation, explanation, analysis, recommendations, accessibility, and other platform functions.

We aim to limit personal information supplied to external service providers to what is necessary for the requested function. Personal identifiers should be excluded where the task does not require them.

Learner information is not intended to be used to train unrelated general-purpose AI models.

AI-generated material and analysis may be reviewed, corrected, rejected, or overridden by authorized educators. AI analysis does not replace educator judgment for high-stakes educational decisions.

6. How information may be shared

We may share information:

• With service providers that help us operate Curiendo.
• With the school or education organization responsible for a user’s educational context, where appropriate.
• With other users when an authorized feature requires sharing, such as teacher feedback or approved collaboration.
• When a user or authorized organization directs us to do so.
• As necessary to process an authorized transaction or license.
• To protect learners, users, organizations, Curiendo, or others from fraud, misuse, security threats, or safety risks.
• Where required by law or valid legal process.
• In connection with a business transaction, subject to appropriate protections.

Service providers receive information only for the purposes for which they are engaged and are expected to protect it appropriately.

Public Library creators do not receive identifiable learner records for commercial targeting.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

Curiendo websites and services may use cookies and similar technologies for essential functionality, security, preferences, and, where enabled, analytics.

When you make or change a choice in the cookie banner on tutorcentrix.com, we keep a record of it, as listed in section 1, so that we can show which choice was made and against which wording, as data protection law requires. The record does not include your name, your email address or your full IP address, and it is never linked to analytics or advertising data. It is kept in our own consent record service, consent.docyrus.com.

Two kinds of measurement on tutorcentrix.com run whatever the cookie choice and set no cookies: Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views and load times, and a limited signal Google Analytics sends for each page view while Analytics is not allowed. Our Cookie Notice describes both.

8. Data retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, to provide contracted educational services, maintain legitimate records, protect the service, resolve disputes, and meet applicable legal requirements.

Different categories of information may have different retention periods. Schools and organizations may also have their own requirements for educational records within their accounts.

Records of cookie choices are kept for five years and then deleted.

9. Security

We use administrative, organizational, and technical safeguards intended to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

No online service can guarantee absolute security. Users and organizations also have a role in protecting account credentials and managing access appropriately.

10. International use

Curiendo may serve schools, educators, creators, learners, and families in multiple countries. Information may therefore be processed in countries other than the country in which a user is located, subject to applicable agreements and legal safeguards.

11. Your choices and privacy rights

Depending on your location and relationship with Curiendo, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, or portability of certain personal information, or to object to certain processing.

Where information is controlled by a school or other education organization, some requests may need to be handled through that organization.

We may need to verify identity, authority, or guardian status before responding to requests involving learner information.

12. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Curiendo evolves or legal requirements change. The current version and its effective date will be published on this page.
