Accessibility statement
Last updated
Curiendo is intended to help more learners participate in meaningful learning. Accessibility is therefore part of how we design the platform, not an optional feature added at the end.
This statement applies to the Curiendo Platform and the Curiendo app where applicable.
Our commitment
We aim to make Curiendo websites, educator tools, family experiences, and learner experiences usable by people with a wide range of abilities, access needs, devices, and ways of interacting.
Our goal is to work toward conformance with WCAG 2.2 Level AA where applicable and to continually improve areas that do not yet meet that standard.
What we consider
Accessibility work across Curiendo may include support for:
- Keyboard navigation
- Screen readers and meaningful semantic structure
- Captions and transcripts
- Read-aloud options where appropriate
- Alternative text and descriptions
- Sufficient color contrast
- Reduced-motion preferences
- Adjustable playback where educationally appropriate
- Larger interaction targets
- Alternatives to drag-only interactions
- Multiple response modes
- Simplified or alternative presentation where appropriate
- Printable or offline alternatives
- Teacher-assisted participation and accommodations
Because Curiendo supports many kinds of interactive learning experiences, accessibility requirements can vary according to the format and educational objective.
Where a particular interaction cannot provide equivalent access in exactly the same form, we aim to provide another way to participate without unnecessarily changing the intended learning objective.
Creator and educator content
Curiendo provides tools and guidance intended to help educators and creators build more accessible learning experiences.
Accessibility remains a shared responsibility. Creators and organizations should review the experiences they publish or assign and provide appropriate alternatives for their learners.
Curiendo may identify potential accessibility issues, but automated checks cannot guarantee that an experience is fully accessible for every learner or context.
Ongoing improvement
Curiendo is evolving, and some areas may not yet meet the accessibility standard we are working toward.
We welcome reports of accessibility barriers and use that feedback to improve the platform and its learning experiences.
Need help accessing Curiendo?
If you encounter an accessibility barrier, please contact us and, where possible, include:
- The page or learning experience involved
- What you were trying to do
- The device or assistive technology you were using, where relevant
- A description of the problem
We will work to understand the issue and, where possible, provide an accessible alternative while it is being addressed.
