Food Web Rescue
Repair one habitat. Watch the island answer.

The learner experience
A little curiosity. A lasting understanding.
Restore a fictional island by repairing habitats: soil and seed, ground cover, nest trees and a blocked corridor. Learners commit a prediction, advance a modelled season, read the trends the simulation reports, then build a causal chain the model accepts.
Imagine this moment
A reopened corridor lets foxes walk back into the meadow; rabbits fall first and the stripped sward only recovers a season later.
Learning & evidence
The learning objective
Predict plausible direct and indirect effects of changes in a food web.
What understanding looks like
Original and revised predictions, the trends observed, every explanation attempted, the chain accepted, and hint use, kept apart.
Adaptation
Different starting points. A shared objective.
Start with plants, rabbits and foxes in one meadow; extend to two predators sharing mice, a delayed response, and a transfer scenario with no hints.
Educator review
This is a proposed experience. Content and assessment require teacher review before classroom use.
