1. Types of cookies we may use
Essential cookies
These support functions such as authentication, security, session management, load balancing, fraud prevention, and other features necessary for Curiendo to work.
Essential cookies cannot generally be disabled through our cookie controls because parts of the service may not function correctly without them.
Functional cookies
These may remember choices such as language, accessibility preferences, interface settings, or other user preferences.
No tool on this website uses them today. They stay off until a visitor allows them.
Analytics cookies
Where enabled, analytics technologies may help us understand how public websites and product features are used so we can improve usability, reliability, and performance.
We aim to use analytics proportionately and avoid turning educational analytics into surveillance.
On this website, the tools below run only after a visitor allows Analytics. The one exception is a limited signal Google Analytics sends without cookies, described under "Measurement without cookies".
- Google Analytics (Google): Counts visits and shows how the site is used. Cookies on tutorcentrix.com: _ga and _ga_45FXWYZWV3, up to 2 years.
- Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft): Shows how visitors move through our pages, such as clicks and scrolling, so we can improve them. Cookies on tutorcentrix.com: _clck (1 year) and _clsk (1 day). Clarity also sets cookies on its own domains, clarity.ms and bing.com.
Measurement without cookies
Two kinds of measurement on this website run for every visitor, whatever the cookie choice. Neither sets a cookie or stores anything on the device to recognize a visitor later. Refusing Analytics does not stop them; it keeps the analytics cookies above off.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics (Cloudflare): Counts page views and measures how quickly pages load. Cloudflare, which delivers this website, receives the page address, the referring page, the browser and device type, the country, and the load-time measurements. Cloudflare states that it uses no cookies, local storage or fingerprinting for this. We see only totals.
- Google Analytics without consent (Google): Until a visitor allows Analytics, and after a visitor refuses it, Google Analytics sends Google a limited signal for each page view saying that consent was not given. It carries the page address and title, the referring page, and the browser, language and screen size, and it sets no cookie. Google uses these signals to estimate total visits.
Advertising technologies
Curiendo does not use learner-facing experiences to serve targeted advertising to children.
Optional advertising technologies used on public adult-facing website pages are subject to the consent and preference controls described in section 3.
On this website, Advertising covers one record of our own, used only after a visitor allows Advertising. No advertising network's tag runs on this website today.
- Campaign record (Curiendo): Remembers the campaign parameters and ad click identifiers in the address of the first page opened, so a demo request can be credited to the campaign. Kept in this browser tab's session storage as tc:attribution and deleted when the tab is closed.
2. Learner privacy
Cookies and similar technologies used within learner experiences should support legitimate educational, security, accessibility, preference, or service functions.
They are not intended to build advertising profiles of children or support targeted advertising to learners.
3. Managing cookies
Visitors can accept or reject the optional categories (functional, analytics and advertising) through the cookie banner shown on a first visit, or at any later time through the Cookie settings control in the site footer.
This site sets one first-party cookie, named "tcx_consent", for 180 days, to remember that choice once a visitor makes one. It holds the choice, when it was made, the version of the banner wording that was shown, and a randomly generated code. The banner asks again after 180 days, or sooner if its wording changes. No analytics or advertising cookie is set before a visitor allows it, and the only measurement that runs before then is the measurement without cookies described in section 1.
When a visitor makes or changes a choice, we keep a record of it: the random code, the choice, the time, the version and language of the banner wording that was shown, the page, whether the browser sent a Global Privacy Control signal, a shortened IP address, the browser type and the country. The record does not include a name, an email address or a full IP address. It lets us show which choice was made, and against which wording.
If a visitor withdraws a category, we delete the cookies its tools set on tutorcentrix.com and reload the page. Cookies the tools set on their own websites, such as clarity.ms, can only be removed through the browser's settings.
A browser that sends a recognized Global Privacy Control signal keeps advertising off until the visitor chooses otherwise; the banner says so, and the signal is recorded with the choice.
Browser settings can also be used to block or remove cookies, although doing so may affect some functionality.
